Kicker Solo X

Is the kicker Solo X 18 a bad ass sub or no? I was just thinking about putting one of those instead of 3 15" L7's....u think the SoloX would be louder? Also what amp is needed to power that beast....

What type of car would you put it in??? It would have to be huge and have lots of alts to power all the amps you are going to need. It is very sick driver. Not the best for daily driving but would be great for a comp car. The 15 would have more surface area but the X will have more power. I don't know what would need more room, probalby the 15's. All would not have very good SQ but would get mad loud.

I woudl be puttin it in an explorer 4 dr. How many alt. do you think i would need and what kind/how many amps?

Well if you wanted to push it to its potential you would need 10,000w of power. 3-4 Zapco 9.0 could do the job but that would be like 5 grand just in amps. 4 Orion 2500D's would cost like $2800-$3000 assuming they were all decently priced. You would need like probably dual 400a alts. I am pulling these out of my head so I could be wrong. Needless to say you would need LOTS of power to make that work. Deffently not for the person looking for the cheapest setup but you would have one freaken LOUD system!!!!

I had heard someone say they had just two kicker 1250 or 1200.1 (dont rememeber which)hooked up too it....is that possible?

Do a pair of 15 l7's....you could only fit 3 if you did a wall.

The soloX is a waste of cash.

If you're into the SoloX's ... they do come in 10's and 12's now ... in case you're interested.

If it was me, I'd do the 3 15" L7's.

Big box + lots of power = fun.

They would still be very loud ...

Depends on how much room you're willing to give up for a box.

to add on to the last post........would 2 15 l7's hit harder than 6 12" alpine type r or would it take 3 L7's that will determine whether or not i get 2 or 3...and what amps...

You could fit 4 ported type R's...2 ported 15 l7's would LIKELY be louder.

Depends on the install, you install any of the aforementioned setups crappy and it could be beat by a single 12. Then again, there are some kickass single 12 setups out there.

i think i will go with just 2 15 L7's. I still need to know what amps to get tho...
