I bought a kenwood excelon cd player from ebay, and it ask's for a code when you turn it on in order for it to work? its model number kdc-ps907. can you help? the seller doesn't know the code either? its there a way around it or to find out the code?

try kenwoods web site. have the model and serial number handy. probably have the sellers name as well(if he is original buyer). other than that.....good luck!!

I'm guessing it's a personal security feature. One that will not allow anyone but the actual owner to power up the system in the event it is stolen. Several brands have this type of security system so that the owner will not have to hide/carry the face plate.

If this is the case, the unit is pretty much useless. A pretty paperweight because the only person that probably knows the code is the original owner. Kind of makes you wonder about the seller.

Or, it could just be a basic code that's needed...I'm not too familiar with Kenwood unity. Good luck.

easy...find someone with an old kenwood remote.(flat credit card type.)....press "kcar" in and the code will disappear and turn on...

the code should be on the warranty card or the seriel card, it should be four digit! if the person did follow the instructions on the manuel, then there is the code, but if the person input his own code, then he is the only one who can help you with it!
