Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing...etc

i took shaolin up until brown. its cool as shit but very time consuming, plus if you have a proper class you learn a lot of history, culture, written work, yadda yadda.

im looking into taking capoiera sometime soon...

I grew up around the martial art known as kenpo. If you ever wanna learn how to never be touched this is your best bet. Infact in my opinion of course its one of the most incrediable arts there is. Its mostly all hand work so if your not all about jumping around and bouncing off walls. You still learn enough to be agile in the legs. I have also done tae- won-do(sp) to lazy to spell right. Oh and i cant stand not being in highschool graduated last year and now i dont know my head from my as$

Martial Arts is like car audio, there is no best.

If your interested in fighthing I would say look into a combo of judo & either Mui Tai, kickboxing or kenpo

And yes, it's very time consuming just as any hobby, sport, or other interests one might have.

If it's purely for discipline, either Judo itself, or karate.

Physical fitness, then kickboxing.

wha sup my peoples....
I was thinking about getting back into karate or boxing or something, i kno how to fight, well mostly street fight along with some of my past training, but i just want to learn something new or more of....... i use to train in tae kwan doe, did a little bit of something that means tiger in japaneese or chineese, and liked it but i want to try something different....i also boxed for a while but not kick boxing...what is ur opinion on ur fav karate or type of boxing? ....what do your did u take and how did you like it? which would you pick?

if your not doing m.m.a. nowdays, dont fight anyone.

I would look at the Bujinkan dojo. It is one of the few true warrior martial arts. The Bujinkan is also known as Ninjutsu. I took it for 13 years and I have been wanting to go back, but between school, work, and my kids, my time is limited. After I graduate for the final time, I will be going back.

Look into MMA (mixed martial arts) if your looking for something that is very useful in street situations and for workouts in general, Crap just check out spiked when they show ultimate fighter season 4. UFC/PRIDE imo are probably the toughest arena's to fight in.

I trained in KOIE-KAN its like shotokan and I thought we worked hard! but when I seen that show I was like crap forget it.

judo+mui tai= MMAJudo+kickboxing=MMA

Judo+karate=MMA

Obviously you are unaware of what Judo actually is.

I never said that just brazilian jui-jitsu was the only thing MMA was.MMA is exactly that, mixed martial arts as in mixed. It can be anything, I have seen a million matches where the anouncers say this guy comes from a mma backround then they give a detailed explination of what that backround is and its always different. Read my post

LOL who the hell are you? You have no idea what your talking about. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is not a form a Judo its a form of jujutsu dumbass. Nihon koryu jūjutsu to be exact was developed in 1333. Brazilian JJU is a highbred if jujutsu and Freestyle Wrestling. Why do you think they are related because it involves grappling? hate to tell you but Judo did not invent grappling, Greco Romans did. I supose Shootfighting is Judo too? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif and before you say yes, I studied with the creator of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif its Shaolin Kenpo, American Kenpo, Muay Tai, Ju Jitsu, Greco Roman and freestyle wrestling, and boxing.

technically Judo is the successor to jujutsu and was founded by Dr Jigoro Kano in 1882 LOL give history lessons on subjects you researched //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
