Just upgrade speakers, or replace stock head unit too?

Hey all,

I recently bought a used 2013 Nissan Note n-tec+ E11 (2012 "facelift" version) and was wondering how easy it is to upgrade the sound system? Others said (after I bought it) that Nissan's are often difficult to fix/mod yourself. Could I just upgrade the speakers and notice nicer sound, or is a head unit upgrade and/or amplifier needed for it to be worth it?

After looking on eBay and Amazon I can't seem to find any 2-din adapters that are being sold anymore to get an aftermarket head unit. So if I should upgrade the head unit too, are there any generic/multi-model ones that might work?

Cheers!
