Just ordered my Type-R!!!

I called and talked to the guy and he seemed pretty nice, even though he did say that he isn't carrying the SVC's anymore (is this b/c Alpine doesn't make them... this seems to be what he was implying). So... my question is since I'm forced to get a DVC, what kind of amp would be good to go with it? I would like to keep the cost of the amp around $200-250... maybe $300. I was looking at Rockford amps but I don't know what is better to get out of the punch and power series. Since it is DVC, I will have to run it at 2ohms, unless there is another way. Can you run a four channel amp with the two sides bridged four ohm running to each voice coil? Someone help me please!!!

No Alpine still makes the svc's. I work in a shop and we get them in all the time.

no you cant run an amp to either voice coil or a 4 channel with each side to a vc. Well the pro's in db drag and stuff ususally run an amp to each voice coil, but you usually end up blowing your sub because if one amp is a tiny bit off than the other one it will cause the sub to shift and scrape the voice coil. If you did do that you would have to tune both amps to the same level using an ocilliscope.

if i ran power to each voice coil individually i would do it by bridging the two sides of a four channel amp. but i really didn't think this would work (but i don't know a lot about what i'm doing). i was mainly looking for any input regarding what amp to use to power this thing.

are there any amps out there that are better (more reliable) at running 2ohms than others? just curious. i'm mainly looking at RF Punch amps, Alpine amps, MTX, and Sony ES... but it all depends on what I can get a good deal on too.
