I had just mentioned this in a post before, the new Orion H2(second generation HCCA) and the old HCCA are completely different. I had purchased a Orion H2 15" and it now has a fried voice coil and is super blown. RMS wattage recommended by Directed was around 2000, i had 1600 into it. W7's pound hard. If i were to buy an Orion now, itd be the old HCCA and not the new h2 designed after Directed Audio bought out Orion.

i couldnt agree more. if you got the money go with a 13w7 and a 1000.1 and you will be the happiest guy ever. OTHERWISE if $ is a prob go with IDMAX v.3's

Man i want to cry, i have a nice enclosure, a sweet amp, and no sub. Make sure u always have enough back up money =(

you are the first person I have read that has blown their H2, there has been so many happy people with that sub, and for the people hitting great numbers with them for the price you can get them, I would take the H2 over the W7 everyday

I agree woofer to woofer the W7 is clearly the better driver, but that's just a stupid statement. The 10w7 has about 1/3 of the displacement of the 15H2, so to say that the 10w7 can outperform it is ludicrous.

If money is no object, definitely get the W7...

A 10W7 will not out perform a 15H2! Like Warbleed said, a 15H2 displaces more air.

IMHO, Orion>JL! JL does have nice stuff, but there is better for the money out there. JL may have the edge in SQ, but the H2 kills a 10W7 in terms of SPL!

given the right amount of clean power, i've never heard a better sounding sub at high db then the 13w7. sq and spl together don't come cheap though.

did you take into account the perfectly matched enclosure the jl comes with it is simply amazing i have had the opportunity with both and the jl 10w7 with an orion 900watt amp blew the orion h2 in custom SUBZONE with the 2500d out of the water. it wasnt even close not SPL or SQ so until you have worked with both STFU
