has anyone ever heard the new jl 12'' w6v2? i know it is 400rms. hx2's have 1000rms. can they really take 1000rms all day long? i'm using bd1500. i want to go with 2 12's so i need a pair of subs that can handle LOW bass, any suggestions? holluh!!!

the jl will take that amps output with no problems, and the fosgates can put out that power continuosly with no problem. both companies make highly reputable subs of great quality. the jl will have a bit better sq but the fosgate should put out a bit more power. if u want sq go with jl, if u want spl go with fosgate.

Either way you will have a great sub. I was originally going to go with what zane said and try the adire audio shiva for my brothers car, but he didn't want to order a sub and have to send it back if he didn't like it. So we are now deciding on JL or Rockford. Thinking about putting 4-12's in his grand am. We are having a lot of trouble picking between the two, but I think he really is for the spl, so I think he is leaning toward rockford. I haven't really read much on the HE2 or the HX2. Anybody with a site for good prices, or specs.

both make good products....but if you were building a spl car read this months car audio and electronics mag "building pressure" . you will see the physics side of an spl vehicle. not always the best of any particular sub wins..more than half of it is in the know how and then the exicution of the lay out. the w6v2 from what i have seen should hold its own with the rockford powers. idmax's also look to be very interesting both these subs (jl and image) were a little new compared to the hx series subs by the time finals hit last year so this year should be very interesting to see who does what. even if you dont go to this extreme alot of what you are basing your logic on is...rockford currently hold the record and i will bet alot of money that they did alot of what this article covers...in fact most of the big boys if not all follow this format in designing/tuning their spl vehicles
