JL Audio 12w7 or Phoenix Gold Ti12 Elite

I am new to this forum and became a member because i am having a real tough time deciding between the 12w7 or the ti12 elite. The money is about the same but the ti12 elite runs at 1200 rms compared to the 12w7 at 750 rms. I orignally thought the 12w7 was an easy choice but now im not sure. The amp will be decided on which sub i choose but will be at least a 1000watts. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Personally I would take the PG just b/c you don't see many of them but that is just me. The PG also has the W7 on xmax and power so I would take it over the W7. Over all I think hte PG is a better driver but that is my opinion...

The 12W7 will OWN the PG in every conceivable way, not even a contest. The W7 has far superior linear output capability and flat BL curve. As far as it's thermal power handling and it's 750wrms rating goes, that's there for warrenty purposes. That 3" coil will take ALOT of power.

Keep in mind that the performance difference can cost quite a bit more(how much ultimately depends on where the W7 is purchased from)

I wouldn't say that, the PG can get like 4 in xmax and has almost twise (well not quite but considerable more) the power... I haven't heard this sub but have read several reivews and have been extrememly impressed with each one... Very strong driver...

LMAO, 4" Xmax. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you have no idea what you're talking about.

Also, subwoofers don't "have" power.

The PG is a solid driver, and given a good install and run within it's limits(like any other sub) it will perform very well.

Actuly yeah they can reach 4" Xmax. Read it in a reivew about 3 months ago. If I could remember were I saw it I would post a link but i can't remember. Trying to think who it was but it was someone I knew of and respected. Don't belive me or do, I don't really care but I know what I read and if I could afford a Elite I would buy on in a heart beat... With the "have" power thing you know what I ment and that was all that matters...

The peak to peak excursion on the PG Elite is 3"- 4" xsus.

The Pg has more power handling, bigger voice coil.

The elite was made for SPL the W7 wasn't remember that.

The W7 is a SQ sub, but puts out respectable SPL.

PG Elite gets my vote

I would choose the PG, they have always made great products and they have great service, plus it is a monster sub, shame its expensive

And you know all of this, because you know of the exact windings of each coil, correct? Also, you have dumax'd both woofers, yes? I'm assuming you have hours upon hours of direct testing with both woofers to back up these blatant claims that you are making, right?
