Would a JBL 600.1 be too much power for an Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1D? The infinity is a 4ohm sub rated at 350watts RMS, 1400watts peak. Would the JBL 300.1 be better? Could the 300.1 still make the sub hit hard?

you can never have too much power. If you have an amp that has more power than your speakers can handle, then you can turn the inputs down, and the amp will not work as hard. Because that amp is not working as hard, it will actually produce cleaner power, which is easier on you speakers.

The only issue you have is controlling the volume knob...lots of guys don't know when to stop...they only go so loud...if it doesn't sound good...stop.

What kind of vehicle? Where will sub box be?

If you were my brother, I would tell you to get the biggest amp you could afford...

yeh he's right, its a common misconception that a over powerful amp will hurt a sub, but in fact, its when the amp isn't powerful enough, that the sub is blown out.

holla!
