Is 1200w to much for daily sq?

I currently have a crap audiobahn that puts out 800wrms. I want to get a better quality sub for SQ but dont want to always be SLAMming. I'm chossing between the RE XXX and Diamond TDX both 10"s!!

Question 1:

is the XXX always going to be loud or can it be tuned down and still have noticable SQbass??? it says 1600wrms but i think that may be too loud for daily use???

Question 2:

If the RE XXX can be set to have good SQbass without being slamming loud, is a D5 1200.1 amp good enough to power it??

Question 3:

If the RE is too loud for daily sq... the TDX is only 800wrms, what amp is there for it because all the good ones are at least 1200w and that would fry it eventually right?

SPL can always be turned down. XXX will sound great. Have u thought about a D2? it sounds like it may be a better choice for u.

lol i knew someone would say that, what i meant was my 900w Audiobahn gets pretty loud now and i just want a better quality sub, The 2,500w peak of the XXX sounded ferocious if i think my 900w is loud. Just making sure.

And the D2 is a 12 right? I am only looking for a ten.

The h2 is great but it is too big, the spce i have is very short in height, i need a tru ten the H2 is more like 11. I am pretty sure i am going to go with the RE XXX and Diamond Audio D5 1200.1!! :thumbsup

I don't think you'd be dissapointed with ~1500 watts on a XXX in a sealed box around .7 - 1.5ft^3.
