exactly what do the internal walls do in sub boxes, lookin like a maze or something, does it control the air somehow to the port for better sound or what?

internal walls serve many purposes. they can be used to form a internal surface area for ports, provide bracing, provide support for subs, or simply to use up volume to fine tune enclosure.
