Image dynamics IDMAX12 -VS- Rockford Fosgate power HX2

I have 2 Rockford Power HX2's I think I am goign to upgrade to two Image Dynamics IDMAX v.3's! IS this a good idea or am i being stupid and its not going to be as loud?? i would really appreciate help there aint many reviews on these two subs. THANKS ALOT

It wont be as loud as your HX2's but it will sound way BETTER than those RF subs. Im not saying the IDMAX's are mainly SQ subs but they have the ability to be loud.

that is kinda what ive been hearing however image dynamics still insists the IDMAX has ultra excursion and will have the SPL of any other sub out there

yes the IDMAX is their SPL sub, but with its design it will sound cleaner (in the right install) but it is not as much an SPL sub that the power is, so its not really an upgrade, your just sortamoving to a slightly different genre of sub

Huh? Really? i thought those line of RF subs were supposed to be poop? I know the

ID subs can handle 1000w easily each and ported they get insanely loud. They are REALLY efficient too. i cannot imagine some of RF's lower-mid line subs would get louder than the ID's, but i will bet they will sound 1000 times better thats for sure.

they sound like poop but they will get louder than IDMAX's just that the teh IDMAX will have way WAY better sq

I had a 10"Power HX2 before Limitkid suggested to get an IDMax V3 12". What re you mainly looking for, SPL?

the Power HX2 is RFs best sub (other than the TRF). I've always heard that IDMAX subs are SQ subs, which is true, but I was really supprised how loud they can get when I heard them. Unless you have really wierd taste in bass sound, you will be happy switching from HX2s to the IDMAXs

Is there a reason why you insist on upgrading to an ID product, and not by other makers?
