Here in AZ you can get a note from the eye doctor allowing darker tints.
Thats a thing in many states. Problem is it also pigeon holes you into the other side of illegal. If you get caught driving a car without tint and you have a drs note on file saying you need the tint. Guess what? You get the ticket. You also have to have the drs note re-certified every year.

Sounds like a hassle to me.

Just don't tint windshield. Plain and simple. Why fight something that's illegal?

Some people have better or worse eyesight then others. I can ride my motorcycle with tinted visor at night and be fine. Not that IM considering tinting my windshield cause I do actually prefer tint less vision out the front.
So what. Some people are diff over others. That's a given. But to come on here thinking you can beat the law with all these lame excuses.....you got no case homey. You must be young.

My uncle used to test his luck. He’s always liked cars, Cadillacs, vettes…
He had been pulled over several times by the same cop. He copped an attitude and the cop made him remove it on the side of the rd.
I have legal and often see far darker than mine. Idc if cops want to get you for too dark, they will. Kill switch is a thought but if the vehicle isn’t in operational order they could site a person for that.

Bumping a worthless 6 year old thread because you have low IQ, poor impulse control, and oppositional defiance disorder. You've got a long row to hoe in life if your idea of authoritarian oppression is not being able to 90% tint your windows.

"Now how does the Under-Man look at civilization? This civilization offers him few benefits and fewer hopes. It usually affords him little beyond a meagre subsistence. And, sooner or later, he instinctively senses that he is a failure; that civilization's prizes are not for him. But this civilization, which withholds benefits, does not hesitate to impose burdens. We have previously stated that civilization's heaviest burdens are borne by the superior. Absolutely, this is true; relatively, the Under-Man's intrinsically lighter burdens feel heavier because of his innate incapacity. The very discipline of the social order oppresses the Under-Man; it thwarts and chastises him at every turn. To wild natures society is a torment, while the congenital caveman, placed in civilization, is always in trouble and usually in jail."

2017 does seem that long ago, but man 6 years went fast.

But, since the thread is back up...
I always wanted tint as a kid, but having done a lot of night driving, I never tinted any of my vehicles. My sister / her husband have insanely dark tint and you can see nothing out of it at night (have driven their cars a few times), have to roll the windows down to look for cross traffic, etc, just to make sure.

I feel like these days it isn't as big of a reason to get pulled over, as I see a lot of dark tint. To me, even the factory tint seems fairly dark so the aftermarket kind of blends in and has become a little less discernible. I'm sure people still get pulled over for it though.
