I want a crystal clear sound, help me out pro's

I have 3 10'' JL audio WO's running off a 300x2 watt amp, what I want to do is make it as clear as possiable, and hit hard at the same time. Can someone give me some pointers on how to do this. I was told to buy a EQ, but someone else told me to by a crossover, my amp already has a built in crossover. I was also considering putting my kenwood amp 75x2 to my highs, what do you think guys?

if u want the subs to sound as clear as possible, the first thing u need to make sure is that u have a well made box out of 3/4 mdf. none of that pre-fab ****. an EQ would be good for fine tuning. External Xover would kinda be useless. Getting a seperate amp for the highs is always a necesity.

If your amp is any good you shouldn't need an EQ, just use the gain/bass boost to fine tune it, and the external (passive or active) crossover idea is completely unnescesary unless your amp doesn't one (very unlikely). An amp for your mids and highs is a must, and a well made box can make all the difference for your subs. You can find recomendations for boxes at JLs website, or can post T/S specs for your subs and someone here can plug them into a calculator and tell you what kind of box would work best

what kind of deck do you have? also that 300 watt amp, please give more details about it

a gain/bass boost is in no way fine tuning.

Adjusting the frequencies on your deck/amp/crossover/eq is the best way to tune your woofers, providing you know what you are doing and don't tune your subs at 5000 hz.

Build a proper box, either large sealed or vented tuned low. Match you gains correctly. Ensure that your midbass is actually present. They'll sound fine then.
