I have 4 alpine type s speakers now (40-50W RMS) and i need a 4 ch amp to boost them up...trick is,i'll prolly be looking to get a comp set, and midbass drivers later on which will end up being around (75-100W RMS, AND 75-125W RMS).

can i get an amp that'll work for both, and just wire them differently?

i like the kicker amps, and fosgate amps. and i would like to learn more specs about RE amps, and prices :) because whatever amp i get here in the next week or so , i'll probably finish up my system with products from the same company.

one last thing i REALLY want in the amp (and the whole system in general) is durability... i don't want to break the bank, but i would REALY like to buy it only ONCE, and keep this system until my car dies. so throw out some opinions and suggestions for me. !

Check out 4 channel models from alpine, autotek, jbl, rockford, kicker and any number of other manufactures. It's o.k. to get an amp that's rated to do more than the rms rating on your s-types so long as you don't go crazy and "yoke the joker" with the volume knob......

I have a Alpine MRV F400 for sale in the Classifed section, its used but in good condition

Buy the biggest, baddest amp you can afford. Run at least 4 gage wire to it the first time, even if it's not needed.

Or else you'll end up doing it again and selling for a loss on eBay. Been there, done that...

He said he wants it to last ... You have to buy new tubes every few years //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
Also, PG Titanium or Tantrum amps are a great choice ...

The Kicker ZX line also comes to mind ...
Why thank you for making me feel like i did the RIGHT thing, i got the tantrum 600.4 yesterday (arrived via fedex) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
