i need help with wiring an 88 jeep grand wagoneer's aftermaket deck

If the jeep still has the factory plug on the wires go and buy the adapter and clip it in. If not you will need to do a few things. You will need to find you ground. (black) constant hot, and ignition hot. Then you can take a 9 volt battery and hook up touch different combinations of speaker wire to the 9 volt until you hear noise comming out of a speaker. Mark those wires and move on until you find the rest.

You will need a volt meter. Find a metal spot on the car and use that as your ground. Then take the other wire (with the ignition off) and find a wire that puts out 12 volts. then turn on the ignition and find the wire that is now 12 volts. The constant hot wire will go to the memory wire on the HU. The ignition hot wire will go to the red wire on the back of the HU (power wire).

Your ground wire may not be black. In some cars it is. You could play it safe and make your own ground. Find a screw that is touchin metal and attach the ground wire on the HU to that screw.

i cold wired my 91 jeep comanche and what i did was i took the 2 door wires, twisted them together, then used a meter on that beeping mode and found the 2 wires that made it beep, thus they are the door speakers. thats the easiest way i could think of doin it and it worked just fine.
