i need help on choosing a HU: panasonic or pioneer

I have narrowed my selection down to 2 HUs, the

panasonic CQ-C8100U

They both have what i am looking for and i have a pioneer in my jeep right now but that panasonic caught my eye and i need some honest opinions from experienced car audio people. Thanks in advance

Why fix what aint broke? Only reason you want to upgrade is looks? Is the Pioneer missing anything that you need/want? If not, stick with it, great unit.

I would like to get a HU with a High pass filter, the one i have is like a DEH-2300 or something shitty like that and since i installed subs, i ned a HU with more flexibility/customizability(if thats a real word)

oof, I misread your original post. Heh. I thought you had the Pioneer and had the Panasonic catch your eye. I was thinking who the hell cares which one? lol.

ive liostened to both the panasonic is good but i have the pioneer premier 660 and it sounds a whole lot better compared to my panasonic 602u

I've used both brands over the years and IMO the Panasonic's menu's are much more user-friendly than the Pioneer's. One or 2 buttons max and you are where you want to be and adjusting. The pioneer you have to hit 3 buttons, stand on your head, do a dance, THEN the you get access to the bass and treble....This is just my experience with Pioneer. But hey, i like it simple....I've owned a couple Panasonics, and they have never failed me, and i like how easy they are to use....Just my $.02

lol, i feel your pain, i have 940 and have to go through 3 sub-menus just to durn down/up my sub level //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif . it is my one complaint about the deck, otherwise it is the best one i have owned.

I have decided to go ahead and get a pioneer, but im gonna upgrade to the DEH-7600 b/c it has mp3 and wma capabilities. I think i will regret not getting one with that.

yea man my Pioneer deh-6500 is sweet. I wouldnt go with a different brand but alpine. Rest is ****. too me but u may have different opinion.
