If its a laptop it should have a s-video out or something simular. look on the back of the laptop. If its a pc then you would probably have to upgrade your video card.

Depending on the laptop it should have a plug called SVIDEO it sorta looks like a mouse/keyboard circle/plug.

That you can get a coverter that turns it to RCA or Coax.

some vid cards (teh expensive all-in-wonder types) have a breakout harness you can get video signal out. resoultion on most TVs though will be nasty blurry at 640x480

Do not use S-Video if you're trying to view text. It will be quite difficult. For videos, it's fine. What kind of TV do you have? Does it accept VGA input?
