Ok i got a rf 160@2 amp with 2 12 fosgate punchs zs and i was wondering how would i wire them to get the most power out of them they are 8ohm speakers and the amp can take a 2 ohm load. Can i just wire the subs in series and bridge them?

Well to get the most out of your amp you are going to bridge it. Now wiring your subs is pretty easy to. You are going to connect the positives from both subs to the proper + on the amp. Next take both -'s and do the same, this is called parrallel wiring. You are now giving the amp a 4 ohm load. Now with your amp this will send 160 watts into the 4 ohm load giving each sub 80 watts. Now this amp will get HOT and you have to watch how high you turn the gain. Although the subs are rated for 100-150 RMS, they should sound pretty good. Good luck. PS. if you were to wire them in SERIES, it would give the amp a 16 ohm load!! that is a NO NO. But you should deffinetly bridge the amp, if you dont then its 40 x 2, and you never want to run the subs in stereo, another no no. Good luck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

send them back adn get a duel voice coil sub

or u can bridge them put both positives together and both neg together adn put then into one channel that will take it down to 4 ohms and it will hit pretty good

Ok so if they were 4ohm and i did it parrelel then that would be a 2ohm load and do i have to wire all the +s and -s on the correct spot i have aleady wired them parrlel and i dont want to go to all the trouble to pull em out but they still play and sound great. Now this is the funnie thing i was touching all the speakers outrputs and i put it on the one neg and the other on the neg and it sounded the best from there?Whats the deal????

The negative On the amp or the speakers ? If you were touching the negatives of the amp you shouldn't get any sound. If you had the subs wired in parallel and you used the negatives for the subs you would have in efffect series wiring with one of the subs out of phase.

Somebody mentioned that 16ohm would be a no no. it wouldn't harm the amplifier. You just wouldn't get anywhere near the rated output of the amp.
