try to buy an amp that has a RMS rating as close to 500w as possible without going too much over. this will enable you to realize the most output potential of your sub without overdriving it... remember the peak numbers are just that, peak numbers and not constant. be careful of the power ratings of the amp in relation to the ohm load being presented to it.
