how many watts is to much for daily

It all depends on the sub and your hearing..lol. I am going to put 2500w RMS for my daily driving but that is just me. My sub can handle it. It really depends on what you want and if you electrical system can handle it. Do what ever your heart desires. Personily I would put all the power I could but that is jsut me...

I know that with 2 type r 12's and only a 600 watt amp my ears hurt when i play my music loud for a while. So they are deffinately gonna hurt with 2 hc's and a 700watts or more going to them. But all people ears are different but i still wouldnt recommend listening to music loud for long periods of time. As long as u keep the volume moderate and dont blast ur subs 24 - 7 then u will prib be ight.

I run at 1000 watts....anymore than that and u will lose ur hearing over the long haul.Cmon we all know that u cant ride around all the time with the volume down.Id rather have a good sounding loud system as apposed to some mind blowing, ear drum popping, sounding like sht, deaf at 50 system. But if u wont mind asking what a 1000 times to everyone u talk to when u hit 50-60 then go ahead and pour on the watts....

i got 2 hcs and debating whether to get 1000 to each or 700 to eachi dont wanna lose my hearing, so i dont no how many watts is to much.

so whats ur opinions on this topic?
You can put 1000 watts on each of them, and they'll enjoy every bit of it.

Now, the question is ... will you enjoy it ? Sure ... you just need to learn when to turn it down.

700 watts will still hurt your ears if you crank it right up.

It's more of a question of knowing when to turn it down when you start to feel uncomfortable.

Well, I have 2 15HC's and I am in the same boat as you. My plan is to put about 1200 watts to each one but I plan to use 2 different amps. They will be in seperate chamber boxes and I plan to install a 2 switch panel for the remotes up front. When I want more SQ I will use 1 woofer but when I wants balls loud at 50% I will use both, it the best of both worlds.

ok so which to get

a phoenix gold tantrum 1200.1

or 2 bx1000s

problem i have with the 1000s is that someone on sound domain says they only do 750 at one ohm so which is it 1k at 1 ohm or 750.

i can wire them bx1000s to the hcs right dual 2 ohm

fast replys comon lol

I found with my last system that it had the power to be really, really loud but I never listened to it like that. I only turned the subs way up when I was showing people what it could do. Otherwise I kept the sub level at about 5 or 6 rather than the max 15, but thats just me.

yes thats 700 to each with the tantrum.

but with two bx1000s thats 1000 to each so now what u think?

2 bx1000s can be wired in 1 ohm to 2 dual 2 ohm subs right?
