how do you guys deal with oil changes........

I am curious how your experience as a helicopter mechanic provides you with the background of driving a car on a lift and why such an establishment would accept that as credible experience.
But if they let you, then they let you.
i dont like letting some fool at a shop drive my car. just because they work at a shop doesn't make me trust them. if they want my money, then they listen to me. i never say "i'm a helicopter mechanic so i'm certied to drive this car on this lift" how much knowledge does it take to drive on a lift?

Fair enough. Most places wouldn't let you.

I read and comprehended what you said perfectly. Comprehension has nothing to do with my decision to have a little fun with it.
Look at this way, at least you're superman do0d now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Eh.. If it were Smallville, I wouldn't mind being superman. But it's CA.com, powers serve me no justice here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you can also get a 2 ton floor jack at wal-mart for like 15 bux
I have had those and they just plain ****, small pad for where it jacks up the frame, 1 foot long handle, heavy, etc. I got my cheapie aluminum one and its been great, almost the size of a fullsixe jack, has the bigger pad, easier to lug around, handle on the side like the nascar jacks, like 3 foot long handle that comes out with the turn of a thumb screw, the pulls in half. It works good for what I like. If I work on my car on the weekends, it jacks up the car and sits it on jackstands. Most of the time I use the lifts at work, or if the wheels dont need to come off I just drive it up on ramps.

just puttin it out there...
I was just refering to flipx about carrying it in their truck, alot of people dont like to lug around a heave som***** floor jack, but the aluminum would be nice. If you just work on your car once in a while one of those cheap walmart jack/jack stands kits is ok, all the jack does is put the car on the stands. I would never get under a car with just a jack. All that is holding the car up from squishing you is a 10 cent seal.
