how are bazooka amps

Im hooking up a system and I am getting a 15 " PG i have been looking around at different amps but really haven't made a decision i want to look for something between the price of 150 to 200 dollars.

I know this guy who is selling his 600 watt bazooka amp for 90 but i wanted to find out some things about it first. just let know your opinion plz.

Bazooka amps work great only when you have 1 sub hooked up to it. If you have too it'll over heat the instant you hold on. If that's your budget then this is a pretty decent amp.

stay away from bazooka especially that p.miller crap. The guy at circuit city was showing me the amp and he didn't even have it up a lot and it started to smoke. Those amps get hot way to easy for my taste.

Ok lets examine this.

First of all, those amps are on ALL-DAY, and all of those amps are getting hot even if their not pumping any power to a sub at the moment. Second, A Bazooka was the first amp I ever tried, the Manager of the mobile audio section at CC reccommended me this amp over an MTX and an Alpine V12. And you know what......I still have the amp today, just not in use. I used it for eight months and never once did it over heat, and never once did it go into protection mode. I use it for my test amp from now one. Are Bazooka amps known to overheat.......yes......but they will only overheat to the extreme of protection mode if you put 2 subs on their, with one your fine........and that's with the boost all the way up to. So I say it is a solid amp if you don't want to spend more then 200. It is certainly better then other brands such as Pyramid, Pyle, Coustic, Boss. I guarantee you'll be happy with it.

Ok, let me tell the whole story then.

It was the P.miller one. It was when they first put them in. The amp was on the wall for like 4 hours at most and It wasn't on all that time. It was suppose to be 1ohm stable and the guy just hooked two of the dual 4 p.miller subs in parallel for a 1ohm load to show me this. Thats when it happened. Maybe it just because it was on the wall. Maybe it is better in car instead. I am just saying what I saw from personal experience.

yeah thats what i heard about bazooka mostly from some people around the city that the amps heat up fast but i guess i might try it out or else i might look around somemore.

if i was to look around some more what would you guys recommend?

i have been lucky with my 2 bazooka amps.... i work at ccity and have seen my share of bazookas that have overheated and stuff... but i picked up 2 for less than $125... a 60.2 and a 2100.... they are both in my dad's car and the 60.2 is running his fronts and rears @ 2 ohms and has not shut off... went into protection... or overheated once... the 2100 is bridged on a sony p5 10 and the bass boost is up... the gain is about 3/4 of the way up and has not shut off on him yet either.... goin strong for over 2 months now... and he makes like a 5-8 hour trip every 2 weeks for work... maybe we just got lucky tho... bazooka is a good amp for pretty cheap... but if u look around... u could probably find better
