HO alt adaptation.

Hello, I am ordering myself a 200 amp alt in the next few days and I can't wait.

It is going to be for my 1990 Chevrolet Tracker but I was wondering if anyone knows if I would be able to make it work in other cars if I get somethign different in the next while. The alt will be a single wire alt. I know that custom brackets would be needed but that would be cheaper than buying a new alternator if I ever do get a different car.
