hissing... uhhh?

Now I got my subs in, ports tuned, amp needs work, but it's comming, but here is a strange thing. I rounded the top and bottom of my ports, because someone told me it allows better air flow. Now I am getting a strange hissing sound out of my ports. It is hissing, but almost fluttering. Any feedback guys?

By the way the hissing only seems to come in certain base notes, so i get "good bass good bass good bass" then Hissing with bass hissing with bass hissing with base."

Port turbulance. How big are your ports?

You might also have an air leak in the box or around the speaker. What about tensil slap? I know tensil slap doesnt hiss but I am sure sombody could get it confused.

my ports are 3 inches wide by 10-1/2 long. They worked fine before I rounded the edges, but I was told it would create beter flow, so I did it... I am quite certain I have no air leaks around the subs, or anywhere else in the box for that matter. Everthing is woodglued and siliconed out the ass the sound is almost like blowing air over a bottle.... like a hum, but higher pitched...... maybe because subs create more air flow then blowing on a bottle... i dunno.... i'm lost..
