Guys I think it's time for me to get an alarm. I couldn't care less if my truck was stolen(besides my rims). But I do care bout my sterio inside. my town is loaded with retards who like to steal. I don't know anything bout alarms, I focus on my sterio.I have some questions I'm hopin you can answer

-how much does a good alarm go for?

-Can you get those sensor's so if someone touches ur ride it goes off?

-where to buy(besides the internet)

-what are the major or good brands to look for when buyin?

I don't know if I'll be getting one for the truck I own now(cause it's a peice) but within a year I'll have to look into one for a newer truck I'll most likely be getting

thanx

I think most alarms are the same. Don't know if they still make Clifford, but that was supposed to be good. YEs they have sensors that go off if your car is touched, you can adjust for sensitivity. One good feature to have is an alarm with an independant voltage source. I know my CrimeGuard has an internal 12v battery, that takes over if the main power is disconnected. Also most important is install. What good is a siren if all a crook has to do is pop the hood and yank the wire off. You want to make everything as stealth as possible and as hard to reach as possible. Try mounting the alarm module somewhere else besides the typical under the dash. These are just some tips, good luck

Most decent alarms come with a shock sensor. You might consider an additional radar sensor on a little piezo speaker that goes off if someone gets close to your vehicle, but I would not wire it to set off your alarm(they are not reliable enough for that). Clifford is a good name. I have also had good luck with Avital and Alpine, have NOT had good luck with DEI. The main thing with an alarm is a good stealthy install.
