Help! Whats in my Trunk?

Someone told me this is only in the GXE model.

This is a 3rd Gen Maxima. 1992.

Have NO idea what it is but its taking up space. The bolts holding the brackets down dont go any further than an inch, and there are no cables or wires that come out from it. Only thing i can tell is that it rotates very little, and its heavy as hell. Like solid steel. Take a look... In order to install my sound system, this has to be gone. No idea what its function is...

Go to the forums over at http://www.maxima.org and ask in the 3rd Generation (1989-1994) section. Maxima.org is very active and they should tell you pretty fast what it is. Unfortunately you can't use the search there unless you donate money, which *****.
