Help installing Alpine 9830 HU

Ok i got the harness for my ford explorer and i have had the HU for about two weeks. I went to work putting it in and i connected all the wires. Now my harness had 3 orange wires for illumination and dimmers, however on the new HU there was no orange wires. So i proceeded by hooking up the ignition wire, the power wire and the ground wire. I put it all in and BAM nothing happened, no lights, no sound, not even a turn on. I took it out and checked allt he wires but still could not find the problem. Can ne one save me some time and help me wit this? thanx alot
