Hail to the King Baby!!!!
my friend who has a kappa perfect, dual 4 ohm and 350w rms, thinks and is so set that he can run 1 to 4ohms. so because he thinks this, he wants to buy a polk amp that puts out 350 at 4ohm and 500 at 2 ohm. i think that if he does this, he will blow his sub. how can i convince him not to get that, and does anyone have a good amp for this sub?

like trungtheindo said he should be fine. But I don't think they would hold up at prolonged exposure at high wattage levels because that is probably outside the thermal limits of the VC. Short exposure above RMS won't hurt anything. However, if he starts thinking he's gonna pimp down the street with his stereo up and the bass cranked I guess he can always learn the hard way... by blowing a sub. Heck before I started buying higher quality stuff I had 3 12's that either fell apart on me, blew a VC, or melted the leads. These weren't great quality stuff to begin with so it was NBD.

Personally, if your friend won't try to understand the laws of physics then let the laws of physics teach him. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
