Good thing or bad thing?

I was just noticing that no matter what setup I have in my car, you can barely hear the bass outside the car even with everything open. For example I was parked yesterday with the trunk open and both doors open playing it at full blast I you cant really tell theres that much bass from outside the car until you close the trunk then u hear some rattling. BUT rattling not bass. Its weird because I also just put a 12 306 sub in my girls car it you can hear a shit load of bass outside the car... Maybe this is a good thing tho since people outside can barely hear the bass even though it is loud as hell inside..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I think its a good thing as long as its loud on the inside. You dont want random people to hear you one might just be a potential thief and follow you to take your stuff. What car do you drive? I have an 04 Accord and my bass is loud on the inside too but not too loud on the outside I dont have any sound deadening or anything either.

I drive a 04 Cavalier with some dynamate extreme in the trunk. I mean I always thought that the loud bass should still sound loud outside also but I gess with cars where this does happen, it isnt as loud on the inside.

I was testing out the subs at work on my break and I tried several variations of the doors and windows open and none of them would yield any bass out side the car. The only thing you can really hear with all the doors and windows closed is the rattling in the trunk - which isnt even that bad. As soon as I stuck my head inside the car you can hella hear all the dam bass and low end just pounding. My high school tassle in the rear view was shakin everywhere also. I can only imagine how 12s or 15s would sound in this car. Ultimate low end

my car has certain areas around it where the bass carries... like in front of the car, and sometimes at a 90 degree angle to the rear quarter panels with all windows open. Anywhere else and the bass is nearly nonexistant. Funny how that works.

I dont think ive ever been able to set off alarms with my car except with the solobarics i had before which didnt even sound that loud. Now with these jbl subs its hella loud and i can set off shit except the hairs in my ears..

My car is fairly silent outside of the car, windows down and all... I have been told it is because my car is very heavy and has very solid paneling... Not sure on the actual reason, but its silent //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My old Cavvy was that way too (97). They are strong body'd and tight sealing little cars, its just pretty easy to contain the bass inside those things imo I guess. (this is good news) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
