Good Sq 12" Sub

i'm loving the sq from my 12" adire brakma mkII. it's in a ported 2ft^3 enclosure tuned to 28Hz. handles korn very well. i really like playing the song, blind, because of the synthesized bass that is used in the song.

I know this argument has taken place hundreds of times, but why do you say the JL is the better driver? Is that what you heard from a friend? A shop? Give me a good reason why the JL is better besides, "I heard it and it's loud." Have you ever heard a XXX.....? I haven't. That's why I don't claim this.
Ok i currently have a 10w6v2 and i am very happy with it, it hits hard for a 10 and is very accurate, but i want deeper bass. I have only heard a 12w7 in a shop and it sounded really good to me ,but the price was pretty steep. No i have not heard the XXX but i am ordering a 15 as soon as i get enough money. So actually out of the 4 i suggested i have only heard the w7 and w6v2 and i suggested the d2 and xxx based on what other people on these boards say

the problem with 12's from my understanding is not being able to keep up with the tempo. Now i love 12's with korn and tool but what about slayer? Fast a$$ double kick - drums. I had 2 12" orion comp subs in a sealed box and this this hit very hard but could not keep up with the tempo with fast metal. Is it possible to get a good responce from a good SQ 12" sub?

Its all in the install dude, when i had my cheap 12" fosgate sealed up it could keep up with a double pedal bass easily, my RE SE 12" in a ported box can keep up pretty well too.

yes I heard a pyramid 12" in a wave box and it sounded killer with some speedy metal bands(slayer, cannibal corpse, and carcass). I'm sure he had it tuned just right. I just dont want to go wrong this time . Does anybody have any suggestions on ported box deminsions(frequency)

I'm rather positive that you will not be as pleased with an Eclipse Titanium as you will with a Stereo Integrity Mag D2. The Mag is geared toward being an SQ driver, whereas the Eclipse is geared toward SPL.
Ummm its the other way around, Most all eclipse gear is geared towards SQ...Id take the eclipse titanium over the D2....deff a good sq sub that will get low and loud if needed.

a w7 will probably sound the best if you have the money buy it, i would rather get xxx's or mags though, the w7 isnt worth the money you can get way better with 2 xxx's or mag's that will cost you the same as a single w7, well whatever you buy put them in a small ported enclosure and tune it low to like 26

and oh yea VENTED=PORTED=VENTED=PORTED

your probably thinking that vented is when you have a slot port which a lot of people around here think is VENTED but as long as it has a hole in the box to the air escape through, it is ported

hope i helped

have you heard the D2 in a good enclosure with proper power? if not, then how can you say you'd take one over the other. i must say the magnum is unbelievable and better sounding to me than any W7 i've ever heard. believe me it will keep up with anything you put on it no matter how fast the beats are, the mag handles everything with ease it seems like.

so i should run two 12" subs? I thought the eclipse titaniums were more for SQ. Like i said i want to be able to reach low notes and keep up with the tempo, again thanx for everybodies help. I'd like to keep my mtx 801D mono (800 watt) and run one 12" but i want it to sound the best it can sound-no distortion no bottom out!! THANX!!!

12 inch mag will be fine with 800 watts. 600 though about 1500 is just peachy.

not sure if 800 will get a XXX going good though. i think they need like 1000+?
