Good Anti-Virus software?

I'm a noob when it comes to the antivirus stuff. I don't know whats good and whats not. Anyone wanna recommend a torrent to me?

The only thing I hate about Norton and Mcafee, aside from price, is how slow they make your computer. I don't have an uber machine, so the realtime scanning kills the computer.

That said, the only anti-virus I use is AVG, but I don't have full confidence that it fully protects my computer. I just do a format every couple years and the computer runs fine. LOL. I have two hard drives, so I store all my pictures and everything I need to keep on one, and format the other.

I may need to look into an antivirus software program. In the last 20 hours, I have received over 200 emails about "mail delivery failure." They said something about replica watches in the message....

I use AVG-free edition. Its FREE and works perfectly fine. Virus free sence i've started using it. If your determined enough you could probably find the full edition for free somewhere.

No it's not ... Maybe some of the best FREE software, but it can't hold a candle to the likes of Kaspersky or NOD32.
AVG Free has quite a few flaws such as:

- terrible protection against polymorphic viruses

- slow outbreak response time

- no real-time web traffic filter (no protection against infected websites)

- no real-time download filter (no protection against infected downloads)

- no IM filter (no protection against viruses spread through instant messaging clients)

- no rootkit protection

P.S. Pirating anti-virus software is ... retarded ... If you don't want to pay for it, just download AVG. It's not the best, but it's better than a pirated AV which may be infected to begin with, not to mention they usually cut you off of updates pretty quick.
