good 1000 watt or above amp?

i am looking for at least a 1000 watt amp to run a Hollywood digital excursion sub. the sub is a dual 4 ohm. I am getting just one for now until i can get enough money to get a second. the rms of the sub is 900 watts. i think i will wire the two vioce coils in parallel to bring it down to a 2 ohm load. i was looking at the kenwood KAC-929 amp to start out but i was wondering what a step up from that amp would be or what is a better amp that is close to the same price?

local dealer..would cost over a grand more than likely.. on ebay it is under 600 bucks from a good power seller. i used to sell to stores and such most of these guys just use ebay to suppiment their income. its good stuff for the most part

Im not sure of the price of the KAC-929, but I will assume that the memphis is a lot more. If your looking for a amp around that price range the jbl is excellent.

depends locally the kenwood sells for 450 and for an extra 150 you get about 3 times the amp...the jbl is good to for a lesser price but i wouldnt put it in the same catagory as i would the memphis dei or like amps. but i would take it over a lanzar or audiobahn. i heard a "2000" watt audiobahn amp on a pair of audiobahn 15's and it was loud but wasnt very impressed. the jbls do what they say just dont have that many features or bass boost that works lol. i just talked to a guy that bought a 1200 and he has same beef as my friend does.

memphis are good, dei, rockford bd range, 8100D good for the money - there's a lotta choice ot there - if money is tight go for something like an 8100D or a JBL 1200.1, if u can spend a lil more, a Memphis Mojo or ST1000D is a great amp. Oh n Harison Labs are pretty good 4 efficiency and $ I hear............

check out crossfires new vr2000d. Just call your local shop that deals with them and ask their opinion. rated @ 2000 watts @ 1 ohm but mine was tested @ 2458 and I will guarantee it pushing it easy and you can run it for 20 min on full and it doesn't even get warm. They are new and pretty pricey. I paid $1100 but I'm also on a little island 8000 miles off the coast of hawaii in the middle of the pacific next to the **** equator.

harrison you gotta play with gains to get the noise out of them.....i know this my buddy deals them and also uses them.......the 800 watt amp is about the size of a normal mans hand....they use hook ups like my monolithic amp .. pretty incredable for the size

why pay that much for mud? if he was db dragging then so be it if he wants to listen to music then i wouldnt suggest audiobahn......case in point locally there is an all audiobahn eclipse all tricked out..its loud and looks pretty sweet the musicality of this system is about mediocre at best. over hanging bass with very poor mid bass aka lacks snap. 3 15's and 2 6.5" components up front one in door other is in kickpanels. dont get me wrong to most people it sounds fine (cause they havent heard a dynamic car) to me when i do a car i want it to make me think i am really there and want it to excite the senses not just thump my a$$ out of the car.
