so i guess i go in on the 4th at 11:00 to have my wisdom teeth pulled. i only have 3, so that is good, but i am definitly not looking forward to it. how bad is it really? i know to expect pain and swelling for a few days, but how bad can it actually be?

I loved it!

I was so fukd up when i woke up didnt hurt to bad but was messed up for like 2 hrs. They couldnt find my vein so i got alittle to much in me. I was smoking etc right after it was done I had 4 pulled alot of blood for the first 2 days but i was eating etc nothing to bad

The thought of what you "were" going through is much worse than what you did. Seriously... you'll get knocked out (assuming you opt'ed for general), then when you wake up, you can't talk and will have someone with a cup of smoothie in your face and a mouth full of gauze. You won't even taste the blood yet, but it will come. It's not painful, really. You just need to let the med's do what they do and in a day or so, you'll be trying to skate off a library roof. It's uncomfortable, no doubt, but Americans have it easy and you'll probably not even feel much. I've had 4 pulled when I was in my late 20's or 30's and it's barely a memory.

yea if your sleeping you wake up and think you just shut your eyes you dont even know the time went by. It seemed like i sat in the chair got the needle then shut my eyes and opened them and it was done. Woke up in another room. Woke up again and out the door i went.

Oh... I should mention... the dentist is obviously not an anesthesiologist (sp), so he calc'ed my general wrong and I woke up in the middle of the procedure, commanding "knock me out... knock me out!... KNOCK ME OUT!!!" to the surgeon. Meanwhile, I was experiencing the pull of the tools on my teeth. I got a bit more meds and woke up with him and my GF walking me to her car. Wild stuff indeed. Didn't really hurt much, but the swollen mouth, spitting blood at the beginning, not being able to eat anything without pain, and being drugged up all alone at home, it was... interesting...

But when u wake up I was really fukd up, i mean i tried to jump out of the car because my mom wouldnt let me drive etc. I had major anger problems from it. But maybe that is just me anyone else i talked to about it didnt get mad but I trashed my room etc. But it was also because I was in a band and wanted to go practice and she wouldnt let me so it set me off. I mean after all 4 out I was ready to go play. And I did she had a friend meet me and pick me up so i wasnt going alone and I was cool. So dont worrie its not that bad

My body did not react well to the anesthetics. It made me dizzy as fudge and I threw up on the ride home. I was bedridden for 4 days and the vicodin made me even dizzier. However, most people I've talked to feel fine the same day they get their wisdoms out.

Be glad you're doing it now. It's because I let my wisdom teeth grow in fully that one of my molars was crushed by it and I've spent literally 6+ hours in "the chair" over 5 or 6 visits (not mentioning the pain in-between) on a root canal on it over the last several months.. and I STILL have more work on it because I broke the cap off a few weeks ago.

Yea, get it over with and be glad you did.

was zonked out during the process, was required to have a sponsor drive me back to my barracks. army dentist pulled all four of them out. bled for awhile & had to **** on gauze, but was able to have a BK whopper the next morning. maybe because i was 32 when they got around to forcing me to get the operation.
