Alot of prefab boxes come with neon, plexiglass, led's. mirriors etc. Just this week I have had the opportunity to impress several groups of people with the privilege of an open trunk L7 excursion porn demo, but they all commented on how plain,(and ghetto) the setup looked.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to wire my stuff up like Las Vegas and look like a ****. It did however get me to think, and it gave me a kind of a cool idea. I took an electronics class where we built a sound sensitive circuit. I've long forgotten how to do it, but I do recall that with different combonations of resistors and stuff you could make the little LED light up at different intensities of sound or at different htz.
Taking this idea, Why couldnt a person make a box with a bunch of different color neons or led's that as the htz got lower, the colors changed. The colors would sort of coordinate with fire, red being 200 htz (coolest flame) and blue white for 20 htz or the (hottest flame). I know this is a rather flamin' idea, but it would be a challenge and would sick as all get out for bass songs with descending and ascending constant notes. It would look the best in a bandpass box, but it could work in a sealed with plexi or just radiating out of a port tube.
Just a thought...
