I have an interesting problem. I'm trying to play NFS Shift on the PC (I'm a student at West Point and am not allowed to have consoles, so I do what I can with my laptop). The game is pretty jumpy and buggy, but I've heard that the patch fixes a lot of things. Trouble is, when I try to install the patch I get the extra cars but none of the fixes (like using your mouse in the menus). I've tried everything I can think of, including extracting the self-extracting exe but all that comes out is a bunch of random files and one particular files name [0] (with the brackets) which is 90% of the filespace. It's like this [0] files still has all the info inside of it, instead of individual files that I can place where they belong.

Trying to install patch v1.02

Some files seem to install, but it doesn't affect the game engine or GUI

Dell Latitude E6420

Intel Core i5-2420m

Nvidia NVS 4200m

4Gb ram

Win7 32 bit

Any ideas?
