hey everyone. its the big day! im finally buying my amp, some speakers and an fmod for my room. which fmod should i get for use with an Alpine Type-S 1040? theres like 20 of them. which is the best for that sub? also, how do you even USE it? thanks.

An Fmod is an active crossover simulator. It plugs into the rca cable before an amplifier. It was most usefull back in the day when amplifiers did not have crossovers built in. They can also be used together in multiples to create a inexpensive bandpass crossover. They do a fairly adequate job for most tasks but a good active crossover is still a much better way to go.

lemans23, if the amp you buy has a built in crossover, you do not need Fmod's.

well see, thats it. i dont know if it does or not. ah well, it probably does. thanks but if u can tell me which is the most value to me, that would be helpful also.
