Definitely. Their earlier stuff is a lot rougher and more punk than the new stuff. Ever since Jade came to the band, they've been incorporating more synthesizer stuff. Have you listened to the side-project Blaqk Audio? Pretty cool stuff.

Sure have. I liked their album...I think it was gutsy to bring a lot of synth-pop style on December Underground but it worked out well for them.

No sir.......I understand and know full well how shows work and know that sh1t happens but if some moron comes out of left field starts pushing and shoving for no reason they are going to get pushed back....end of story.

Like I said, if they're being little pricks, knoc'em the fack out. They way you originally described the hitting them in the chest though, it didn't sound like they were forcing you into a mosh pit. I completely understand you there. Hell, I about clocked some kid in the face at Warped acouple years ago when he tried pushing his way past me to get closer to the stage. If they show disrespect, then you're more than welcome to show them the floor.

I kind of like that they've switched from the heavier stuff to a more synth-pop sound. I do a lot of writing, and I love how poetic their lyrics are. Of course, I still like to throw on the angry rough stuff pretty often too, but I think their new stuff suits them better. And I think other bands do the angry, intense stuff better anyway.

IIRC, they're a little rougher than I normally like. Too much screaming, not enough singing. But my roomate this semester is in love with Black Dahlia Murder, so I guess I might be more receptive to it if I listened to some now.

I don't care for the new CD, the one with the bird and some girl screaming...I thought it was bad honestly. But before they got big they sounded decent.

AFI is okay. I have never gotten into their music but I know plenty of people who like them. Davey Havok gets more credit from me than a lot of artists, regardless of "ambisexual" nature. Great frontman, unique voice, screams like a maniac. Blaqk Audio was an interesting throwback to 80s sound. Again, not a big fan, but I can't hate on it either because it's technically good and a ballsy leap from hard rock.
