Any opinions on this sub? I do believe I might enjoy one. How's the SQ and the SPL?

I have a HiFonics 500w @ 1ohm Brutus amp. Would these work well for the application? I want SQL, but with a tid bit more emphasis on the SQ.

Any other suggestions for a sub I can pick up for around $100-$200? Ready to get this system bumpin'.

i just bought 2 last week and they should be arriving either today or tomorrow. they were on clearance for $155ea plus about $15ea for shipping. i'm hooking them up to an MTX 1501D running at 4 ohms (to help save my electrical system). i got the duel 4 ohm voice coil option so when i want to run my amp at 2 ohm i have that option. they're going fast and the new ones won't be out for about 1-2 months. everybody seems to love these subs so i got a couple. i'll let everyone know how they sound once i install them. good luck!

*cough cough*bump*cough cough*

A 1501D? Can we say SWEET JESUS?

Haha, my measely 500w @ 1 ohm aren't going to even touch what you'll be pushing them at. Ah well, regardless, let me know what you think of 'em.

Anybody else out there with an opinion?

I got one i've had in my car a couple months. Really like it but going for a more SPL oriented sub now. I liked it a lot more than any other sub i had used before. (JL 12w6 12w6v2, ID IDQv.2 10 and 12.

If you are interested you can have mine for $150 shipped if ur on the east coast. It's dual 4

I'm using two of these in the rear deck of my tbird powered from an Xtant X1001.

60hz on down.

SQ is ultra smooth, and the output is definately there.

I wouldn't say it's an all out "SPL" oriented driver though.

No complaints.

Should suit your system goals well.

my 1501D will only be pushing 750w into 4 ohms...like i said, i'm trying not to spend more money on my electrical. and that's 750w between (2) 12" O's. but eD said that should be enough to move them 70%-80%. but the size limitations on my box will be even more of a challenge with only 375w to each sub.

If I can find a way to power the thing decent, I think I'm sold on it.

Main thing I can see is if I can wire that amp to a single sub at 1 ohm. Any weird wiring methods to do that with a dual 4 ohm sub? Don't think they sell it in a dual 2.

But yea, I'm east coast (Alabama), would take you up on the used sub, but I can buy a new one shipped from ed for just $20 more.
