Yeah it's getting real expensive to sell stuff. Between the listing, final value & paypal fees it's just ridiculous.

What are all the fees? Isnt it like 2 dollars for list, and 2% of whatever you sell. Then its like 3% for paypal?

Pretty popular thread. Most (not all so those of you who aren't don't get yer panties in a twist) of the posters whining about how greedy eBay is.

Did you all miss this important bit of info:

However, your listing was in violation of eBay's Paypal Payments policy and has been removed from eBay. We have credited all associated fees to your account and notified eBay users associated with the transaction that it has been cancelled.

As all the fees were returned to him how is that them being greedy, exactly?
Additionally, claims of a connection between these actions and you, as a seller, having to relist any given item resulting in lower selling prices have been raised. If there is any validity to those claims whatsoever be aware that a lower Final Item Value results in lower fees being collected by eBay at the end of your auction. How is that greedy again?? I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes...

I'm in no way defending eBay's policies or their actions by way of enforcement of those policies...but I'm not seeing greediness be a very motivational factor here.

Ebay has made me alot of money in the past,but in the last maybe 2 yearsthey have been getting out of hand with fees ....

Just relist it in the same fashion.

I had that happen to me a couple of times. I just relisted with the same stuff I wrote before, I didn't change anything. It sold fine.

Why dont they just let me acept paypal balance transfers or e-checks?

Because they dont get any money out of it?

You do not have to upgrade to a Business or a Premier account. You can continue on your merry little way with a Basic account and not be able to accept credit card payments.

What you may not do is specify within your item listing's item description or payment details that you do not accept PayPal payments funded from a credit card.

If someone bids on your listing and wins and wants to pay in that fashion then tries to? They will immediately get a notice from PayPal that your account is of the wrong type to accept payments funded in such a fashion.
