Drywall

Actually the cardboard might hold up longer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif They make some freakin strong a$$ cardboard these days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You should be able to use it as long as your not hitting over like 189 db...

I'm assuming your kidding. But please for mine and his benefit tell me your kidding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just go to some biz and ask for their cardboard and invest in some duck tape and you would be alot better off than dry wall. Not saying that either one would be any good to begin with either. Just wait till you have a box properly made instead of making a temp.

as i type this my eyes are welling up with tears of laughter....

sheet rock subwoofer boxes.....rofl

i don't think drywall is very resonant, so there is that one good quality, however unless you can find 2" thick sheet rock that doesn't crumble like stale bread, i don't think it will work very well. the dust that stuff makes would probably negatively affect your subwoofer's moving parts as well.

for my sake, and for the sake of everyone else that read this post, please tell us you were kidding....

A long time ago I watched a friend build a box that was supposed to be sealed and the lines were so crooked and it had gaps so bad, that when the bass hit, sawdust flew out of them... The box was the biggest peice of crap... It was for two really really Old alpine 10s, back when they had a grill that used to recess into their surround trim ring...

yea ok well it was almost 1am and i couldnt find anything but drywall in my house. ive since scraped together some pieces of MDF to construct my temporary box. used a couple pieces off a couple different old box's and some that i found out in my dads shed. its ~2(maybe bigger) cubes sealed for an eD 12O.14 big cuz i dont have much power to send to it. orion HCCA 225.

edit: i just needed a shitty temporary ox cuz im doing a 2 seater conversion to my tiburon in a couple weeks and replacing the backseat with a custom fiberglass box that im in the process of working on now. =]
