Dodge SST Vs. 2000 Honda Civic EX

250hp from a 5.9L? if thats true dodge=teh sucks!

The dodge will win sure enough... I havnt seen the full-size 360's in action but in the R/T dakotas, that 5.9 will haul ***. My friend has a civic and it's turbo-charged and built up and everything but before he modded it, it was fairly quick (but like it was said, it wasnt fast).... Keep us posted!

 
My guess is that the dodge will take it off the line with the torque, but the civic might start to reel him in. I raced a civic 4 cyl 5 speed with headers and full exhaust/intake, i smoked his *** off the line till about 70 then he started to catch up to me. Well based off he dodge dakota r/t running a 16 second 1/4 with a 5.9 liter V8 engine that sports 250 horses and 345 lbs/ft. of torque, I dont see that Dodge SST running any faster than that. This should be a pretty even race....

 
i raced someone tonight in my dakota and it was an 01' Si with a few mods (or at least an exhaust). beat em' off the line, and up to 95-100ish. At that point he took me but i've got a 97' dakota with gibson headers, custom y-pipe and full 3" down to a flowmaster 40 series, and a custom CAI. dunno how i beat the civic but it was fun. by mid may i plan to add a PCM, lower it 2" and put 19"s on it, maybe add a supercharger so it'll be fun:D.

one of my buddies has a dakota r/t i wanna say its a 2000, he's either stock or maybe an air filter but when we were at the track it pulled 14.9

maybe its a factory freak and there was a tailwind and great air temp that day, i dunno, but thats what it ran

no it's more like meka quoted the time of the 5.2L v8 in a slt. a 00' R/t with a k&n filter that my bud owned before he got his C6, ran a 14.8 with just upgraded spark plug wires and the k&n air filter. so i don't know where he got the 16.4.

told you;). the sst and slt are pretty much the same and my truck ran a 16.28 stock. not taking her to the track until i put in the next 3 engine mods so i can get the hp over 300 and torque over 350-370.

Those numbers were for 1988-1995, then they switched to Vortec Fuel injection on the 5.7 getting a whopping 265 hp.

Was speaking about the Vortec, sorry. But we are both wrong, numbers were 255@4600 and 330@2800.
