Current events discussion

I just watched 4 different recent news coverage's of the ICE protest in LA from 4 different news agencies and holy shit does the left leaning media play that shit way down. Only one news agency shows these "peaceful protestors" throwing rocks and bottles at police and other LEO. Just one news agency. The others pretty much stay tight on the detention center and one news agency (CNN) even said there was only a few hundred protestors.

Wrong, *****!

She announced she was running in JULY of 2024. That is the summer of 2024. Intentions to run are made in the spring. Show me where she registered IN THE SPRING of 2024 with the Federal Election Commission. Show me where in the spring of 2024 she announced her intentions to run for president. Show me in the summer of the year before and up through the spring of the elections year where the primary and caucus debates for Kamala took place. Presidential primaries and caucuses?

Like I said, she should not even have been in the mix.
Look at you, trying to be all Jesse Pinkman tough. How cute!

The FEC regards laws on campaign finance, not deadlines to run, not COTUS requirements, etc.
A candidate must file within 15 days of triggering their candidacy. She filed on July 21st, which is WELL within 15 days of July 21st (when they changed the committee name from Biden to Harris).
So, your FEC reference is wrong.

Biden was the presumptive nominee; he was never chosen by the delegates.
And, multiple Supreme Court decisions affirm that the parties have the constitutional right to choose their own delegates: Democratic Party of United States v. Wisconsin ex rel. La Follette and California Democratic Party v. Jones. The party did so.
So, your belief that the party could not choose her instead of Biden is wrong.

The DNC (where the candidate is officially chosen) often doesn't even happen until late-July mid-August (sometimes even September), but you think the delegate is always selected in the "spring"? Hell, in 2020, the RNC was August 24-27.
Do you know that late July to September are not considered "spring" in the United States?
So, your claim that she missed a "spring" deadline is wrong.

I know you have a major sense of entitlement, but you don't get to decide how the political parties choose their candidates.

Dare I say, "you got it all wrong, *****!" ?
lol

What Rob is trying to say is the DNC doesn't care their candidate is one the that a majority of their members want. Remember sanders had the heat and numbers but the dnc wanted Hillary...who ran was the ticket against Trump the first time?

But in all fairness both the rnc and dnc are PRIVATE organizations so what the voters want ultimately doesn't matter if the party heads want something different...

Kamala should not have even been a part of the election. To be nominated to even run there are steps. None of which she took.

1. Meeting Constitutional Requirements:
  • Be a natural-born citizen of the United States.
  • Be at least 35 years old.
  • Have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years.
2. Competing in Primaries and Caucuses:
  • Candidates participate in a series of state-level contests called primaries and caucuses.
  • These contests award delegates to the candidates based on voter preference.
  • Primaries: Voters cast secret ballots to express their preferred candidate.
  • Caucuses: Meetings run by political parties where participants openly express their support for a candidate, sometimes through methods like dividing into groups.
3. Winning Delegates:
  • The goal is to win a majority of delegates to secure the party's nomination.
  • The way delegates are awarded can vary by state and party; some use proportional allocation, others use winner-take-all, and some use a hybrid system.
4. National Nominating Convention:
  • The party holds a national convention where delegates from the primaries and caucuses officially cast their votes for the presidential nominee.
  • If no candidate secures a majority of delegates in the primaries and caucuses, the convention may become contested, requiring additional rounds of voting to determine the nominee.
  • The presidential nominee officially announces their vice presidential running mate at the convention.
In summary, to be nominated for president, an individual needs to meet the constitutional requirements, actively campaign and compete in state primaries and caucuses to win delegates, and ultimately secure a majority of delegate votes at their party's national nominating convention.
My understanding is that because she was already on the ticket, they could "legally" circumvent all this.

I know, the left is allowed to shift around the laws, rules, morality, ethics if it gets them what they want. You, the sheep, get to play along like you know any better.

Do Boy.

It's crazy. I'm not too happy the J6 riot wasn't condemned by their own party, but this sh!t, the BLM riots, etc are much worse IMHO. J6 lasted 3 hours vs left wing riots last 3 days (or longer) break out across the country, etc.
The left encourages all this bullshit. Unless it might interfere with them making money. They didn't care if the public burned down businesses across America but step into the lefts place of business and now there is a problem. It's all horseshit. It's all about keeping the power and the ability to make money off the people and the left do it best.

The party (either one) can nominate whoever they want...they aren't legally obligated to who the voters want.
This is very true. They can put in anyone they want. The funniest thing about is the dems saying Trump is trying to take away our democracy, but in reality, the dems are the ones doing it. They went against the voters and put in Hilary and they put in Kamala without even taking votes.

Your attempt to show that ANYHTING was "shifted around" was a complete failure.
Can you provide anything that says "laws, rules, morality, ethics" were shifted round when Kamala was chosen by the party to run?
You got the FEC part wrong.
You got the part about parties choosing a candidate wrong.
You got the part about the announcement being in the SPRING wrong (and somehow coupled it with her FEC filing for campaign funding disclosure).

So that leaves you with the "ethics" and "morality" part.
What ethics and morality mores are you claiming she violated?
