Excellent point. Some states have moved to protect abortion until the day before delivery, but at the Federal level pure crickets. Then Roe gets overturned (which I do think was judicial over reach) and suddenly the DNC claims to be the defenders of abortion and place the blame at Trump's feet. They had 50 years to do something other than give it lip service; have they even bought an pro-choice bill to the floor in the previous 50 years?

Here's a trigger word for you: transgender.
Once you're done with your meltdown, make a list of how a person's ****** orientation makes a single difference in your life.
Then, make a list of how having 20-50% of your retirement account vanish in a day might affect your life.

Compare the two.

Here's a good example. My son's team had a gal who wanted to play with the boys. Turned out she couldn't handle the heat, but the rosters had been finalized. Some boy lost out on that roster spot and the team is short a player.

If one believes in dollar cost averaging or had cash parked on the sidelines, a drop in the stock market can be an excellent opportunity to buy at a discount. I assume you dollar cost average into your retirement account. The Lefties that were predicting economic implosion most certainly would have moved into the bond market, gold, crypto, cash, etc. For example, the S&P500 Corporate Bond Index is up ~7.5% YTD compared to the S&P 500 stock index being down ~3.5%. That would explain why the left is rejoicing over the stock market taking a beating; they all jumped into the corporate bond market while the stupid conservatives hung onto their stocks like a bunch of morons. This is why Dems like Pelosi absolutely crush it in the stock market; they're just following (or leading?) their faithful flock.

I do have to wonder why people are reporting their retirement accounts are down 10, 20, 30% since Trump took office. Even if one were being aggressive and 100% invested in the NASDAQ, they'd only be down ~7% YTD. WTF, were they invested it to be taking such a beating? The Dems that jumped into bitcoin when Evil Orange Guy took office are up 10% YTD.

Ironically, that difference in the S&P500 bond index vs S&P 500 stock index demonstrates that the dip in stock prices was a market reaction to overpriced stocks (terrible PE ratios): clearly the big investors are confident that the S&P 500 companies can repay their loans, they just wanted to cash in on sky high PE ratios while the getting was good.

I'm not only in a sanctuary state, but my job occassionally takes me pretty close to that neighborhood in Aurora where TDA had taken over the apartments (unless you watch MSNBC, in which case that never happened). Douglas county (along with some other local govt's) have taken an anti-sanctuary approach to the problem of homelessness and crime that Denver has generated by being a sanctuary city and the differences are huge - cleaner and safer neighborhoods, no people poo in the streets and on the sidewalks. No needles in the parks. No random tents in random places.

I disagree here... losses in the stock market give people the opportunity to finally get into the market by now having access to lower priced stocks... which will help it rebound. You seem very pessimistic.
