One thing I never understood yet by dad tried explaining it to me all the time.

I just can't grasp the concept why you bet on stocks rising or falling.

It was the only way my dad could afford to make and money on $$ stocks..ha

Yes, but you don't actually own the stock. It is a way for an undercapitalized person to control shares. I "control" 500 shares for the price of ~200.

Well, my "bet" on AIG is now worth $1,500. I am going to let it ride to $2,500 and pull out. No need to get greedy and I need the cash to pay off my debts. I am thinking of letting it ride until $10...but unsure.

If I don't make an A on this test, I am really going to be pissed. I know I have studied around 8 hours for it since Monday. It is in Silviculture, which I bet dang near none of you know what that is..haha.

I put in a limit order today to sell at 6.00. I doubt it will happen, but still. Since they can't short sell AIG temporarily, it is all good. The price is already at 4.21 in pre-market trading. Not a huge jump to get to $7.

No. I paid $1.14 for the right to purchase AIG for $5. However, they are sold in lots of 100.

I bought 5 contracts.

So. $1.14 * 5 *100 = $570

If the price rises to $6.

6 * 5 * 100 = $3,000.

Thus if AIG's stock increases such that people would be willing to $6 for the right to buy it at $5. I may monies.

there's one issue that makes me hesitant aboutbuying more of this stock: the government hasn't executed their

warrants for the 80% stake. When and if they do, the stock will

nosedive, and the duration for which it will nosedive is uncertain.

The bottom is uncertain as well, but it could very well be $1.

Yes. If AIG doesn't pay the loan....yes.

I was in this trade for 1 - 2 weeks. I don't suggest owning the stock....just profiting off of short term moves.

DC. I can help some...I don't suggest this style unless you can lose the money. If you threw the money in the trash, it wouldn't hurt. It's just like gambling.
