I'll tell you my experience at Wal-Mart, and hopefully yours will be similar (if that's what you want):
- Super easy work
- Mostly dumb co-workers
- Very easy to climb the chain (see point 2)
- Management is usually paid a decent wage for what they do
- Becoming a store manager can net you some serious cheddar, especially if you do a lot of volume
- If you don't give a shit, you can do the bare minimum work necessary and people won't care much
- If you do work hard, you can ask for raises. As an example, my girlfriend works at Wal-Mart part-time while going to school, and she gets the usual raise every year, but she also gets a merit raise (either offered or asked) every 6 months or so. Obviously you have to establish yourself as a good worker first.
