Cheaper than going optical, is there a difference in SQ?

Indeed. cleaned out two trashbags full of crap in my free car. Discovered other broken items. Sucks, but I expected it.

I went to bed. Cleaning the house now.

I'm sure there is but the level of difference I wouldn't suspect as being to great considering the source will more than likely be a compressed format anyway. The difference in using the jack/rca cable to receiver compared to laptop speakers would be greater than using an optical out vs rca. Nawmean?

I don't even have anything stock to replace it with...stock radio was an AM/FM only, no cassette, certainly no CD. Got rid of it a while ago. The speakers were some horrible paper things.

If I get $300 out of that stuff, I'd be happy.

I have parts of a system....going a bit more simple now, just gonna do upgrades to the speakers (keeping the stock 5x7 size) and put my fosgate punch 4 channel on them, and maybe get a punch mono amp in the future for the sub...
