It needs to be mounted to a stud. Cut the hole for it, insert(lol I said insert) the box, hammer it in with the nails(usually 2 nails) it comes with.

Yes. Should take like 10-15min to do it all. Yes, you can even cut the drywall with a steak knife to save yourself the money on a drywall knife. lol
