Online degrees are worthless.

They aren't if the piece of paper is all that matters. Employers cannot tell the difference between an online degree and a in class degree.

lol. But that doesn't make them enjoy learning. I am always trying to read and learn about the (financial) world around me.

They don't have to enjoy learning to be successful students.

I hated school, but was pretty highly ranked in my HS class, and am holding a 3.9 through college. It's not so much the desire to learn, but the desire to get a degree and make something of myself (not that you need a degree to do so, but that's how I look at it for myself, in order to get through school).

My g/f is like you though, except it's with science. She sits there and voluntarily reads medical journals, science books, medicine books, etc. She's nuts.

I do not think an employer would care if you graduated from a state school's online program vs. resident. I think if you compared a state school to Phoenix online, that is where you see a difference.

What about state school online vs. Phoenix in class?

They've got LED DLP's out now that are 3D capable.

Yes, only for the fact that LED DLP will never need a bulb replaced.

SD is going to look mediocre on any HD set, that's a given.

And if I were going DLP, I'd only look at Samsung, but I haven't really followed TV trends since I purchased mine about 2 years ago, so I'm a little out of the loop.

I equate them as one in the same...in order to be a successful student, you must enjoy learning. Passing tests is not the only way to measure learning.

It's not so much the enjoyment for me as it is the gratification of doing well, which motivates me to learn.

LED DLP isn't competitively priced against LCD. It is also still a bigger footprint. **** it.

BTW, Iam- I'd stick with 12 credits for now.
I've always taken 12 credits and worked full-time, I tried 18 credits and worked 30-35hrs/week this semester and dropped one class as it was just too much, but I'm doing pretty well this semester with 15 credits and 30-35hrs/work, however my GPA is going to drop slightly- holding a 3.9, will probably get a 3.3 this semester.

Not all Ivory is Ivory. It depends on the program. The University of Virginia, for example, is not an Ivory, but has an MBA program that outranks many Ivory League programs.

The name of the school is what matters in the real world if you're from Ivory. To the rest of the real world the degree is what matters.

Its like pre-civil war days. Ivory = whites. Everything else = slaves

Depending on where you want to work, you go to a specific school that recruits from that school. At least in Investment Managers.

That is an exception of course. I also would not call that the real world.

For some generic BS MBA, Ivory may matter. Good luck getting on at Goldman it you didn't go to Wharton.
