I can't believe I'm placing my 2000 pound 36" Sony CRT that I paid $5000 new for, with a 50 pound 42" LCD that only costs a $1000.
The Flip in me has a hard time comprehending.

I have a 30" Sony CRT that I replaced.

Invincible too though. When I moved out of apartment living I dropped mine on the cement because I couldn't hold it any more. Plugged it in and still worked perfectly.

Maybe it will go into the pool room or something.

I have a 27" CRT on my dresser (about 5.5' high) and the only reason I have not replaced it was I don't want to try lifting it myself and I am afraid I will crush my wife with it if she tries to help me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I dropped my 52" Mitsu DLP on the living room floor during a little domestic tiff and I was certain it was dead but picked it up and it still works like a champ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Only thing is there are some tiny black specs on the screen now I am guessing due to dust being moves around the bumb when it fell.
Still need to call and get that covered under warranty.

Is DLP a LCD or a Plasma?

Kind of like old school projection just lighter and smaller and looks better.

I was considering selling it and getting a flat screen but I would not get anything for it so I will just replace the $100 bulb every year or so and put it in the basement once it is finished and buy an LCD flatpanel for the living room.

Probably just because of the size. Sure it's smaller than a normal CRT tv, but it can't really compare to LCD's and plasma.
